Finding it
Easy, for once
4 posts mention the location
Nobody in our sample got lost. Marzaka sits on the south side of the ground floor of Jinbao Place phase one, facing the street, a short walk from Bar Long Fong, Shifter and the now-closed Loma. Two visitors say it took over the old site of White Moth, an earlier restaurant from the same group.

Most talked-about drink
The wampee gin and tonic (黄皮凤凰金汤力)
9 posts mention it. 8 praise it, one just lists it
Wampee is a small, tart southern Chinese fruit, and here it goes into a gin and tonic with Phoenix dancong, a fragrant oolong. Visitors describe it as sour-sweet, clean and low in alcohol, with the fruit clear but not shouting over the gin. One calls it the best drink on the menu, another the top of the night, a third a perfect drink to go with dinner.
It has been on since the soft opening in January 2026 and posts from September still rate it first, which suggests it holds steady. A tip from one visitor: if you grew up in southern China, order this before anything else.
“So refreshing I couldn’t stop drinking it.”

Signature drinks
Playful, sweet and made for food
28 posts review the cocktails. 8 say they run sweet or light
小精灵宾治 (Elf Punch) is the one people photograph. It mixes coconut, passion fruit and grapefruit and comes full of fruit popping pearls. One visitor said it tasted like gummy bears. Another found the last part of the glass hard to finish, and a commenter says it gets sweeter the longer it sits.
人参果大吉利 (pepino Daiquiri) was the best drink of the night for several people. Pepino is a mild, sweet melon-like fruit, and it turns the sour Daiquiri soft and fruity. The smoked Piña Colada splits opinion. One visitor loved its pineapple and coconut, another found it cloying, and a regular says the smoke is there some nights and not others. The Marzaka Mojito uses fresh green sugarcane juice. The Reggae Erguotou, brought over from Bar Long Fong, tastes to one visitor like an erguotou and tonic, and pleased a Polish bartender friend.
The common thread is that drinks are easy and lean sweet. Some see that as the point, food-friendly little drinks at a fair price. Others wanted more alcohol, called the Little Dinosaur Old Fashioned (小恐龙古典) sweet without surprise, or found their last drink too sweet. One visitor wished the menu had more spirit-forward options. In summer 2026 there was also a run of beer cocktails made with a Hainan craft brewery, which one visitor worked through glass by glass.
“Full marks for ideas. Light on the alcohol.”

Service
Rough at the start, warmer since
5 posts talk about service. 3 kind, 2 critical
The worst account comes from a Saturday during the soft opening in January 2026. Three drinks took an hour (staff said the printer had broken), water was slow to come, an extra drink arrived that nobody ordered, and paying took about 25 minutes.
Later posts are kinder. A September visitor gave service five stars, praising staff who topped up water, cleared glasses and chased the kitchen without being asked. Another found the staff quick and friendly, with fun coasters. On a guest-bartender night in September, one visitor found the drinks pre-batched and saw crushed-ice drinks left standing for three minutes before anyone carried them over.

Food
People come for the food
31 of 57 posts write about the food
Bar food is what Marzaka is known for. The grilled vegetables with lemongrass sauce come up in 16 posts. The plate is fried cauliflower, baby corn and broccolini under a spicy sauce, and posts call it the best bar food in Beijing. One visitor found the sauce salty, with little lemongrass in it.
The Taiwanese braised pork rice comes up in 11. It is finely chopped braised pork over rice with an onsen egg, crispy fried onion and pickled radish. Fans describe it as rich but not greasy. One wanted more radish. The Kansi sour fried chicken also appears in 11 posts, with crisp scaly skin and a sour Southeast Asian sauce, and at a September guest night run by Chickey’s, the Manila restaurant the recipe comes from, one visitor got one of the last two portions. Not everyone agrees on it. One visitor found it salty, another found the pieces large and a little gamey.
Other dishes people name are cold braised beef tongue served over chargrilled pepper sauce and water bamboo (the water bamboo stole the show), shrimp cakes, roast chicken, lamb shoulder blade and black tiger prawns. There is a low-calorie menu, which one visitor said came in portions too big to help any diet. A ¥38 plate of potatoes disappointed one diner, and the octopus got one thumbs up and one warning. A few people find the seasoning heavy overall. Note that one visitor says last food orders go in around 11pm to 11.30pm.
“Easily top tier among Beijing bar food.”

The room
Big, bright and a little odd
9 posts describe the room. 2 wanted it more tropical
Unlike most of its neighbours, Marzaka is roomy. Posts mention a large square bar, plenty of sofas, an open front onto the street and good lighting. The decor mixes bare concrete, pop art and retro tropical touches, with a dinosaur skeleton, a skull sculpture in sunglasses and an afro, and optical-illusion slogans on the walls. One visitor was delighted to hear music from the video game Undertale.
Two visitors felt the room is less tropical than the drinks. Others noted small upkeep issues: drifts of poplar fluff by the door sofas in May, and lots of mosquitoes on a June night.

Seats and crowds
Usually a seat, but not always
13 posts talk about getting in
Doors open at 6pm, which one visitor says makes it an easy after-work stop. In the first months it filled up early. The bar was busy by 7.30pm on a January evening, and in May one visitor waited an hour. A commenter advises arriving before 8pm.
From the summer on, several posts describe walking straight in while bars nearby had long queues. One visitor says you can phone ahead to book a table before 9pm. Guest nights work differently. On one in September, people queued from 6pm and were let in by name against the phone number they had booked with.

Price
Cheap for Jinbao Street
12 posts mention price. 6 quote ¥78 a cocktail
Cocktails were ¥78 each during the soft opening and posts from as late as September 2026 still quote the same price, with beer at ¥58. Several visitors call that rare value in Beijing, and especially on Jinbao Street. One mentions a weekday set menu as well.

How people hear about it
The Long Fong overflow
13 posts came from, or instead of, a queue nearby
Marzaka is run by the team behind Bar Long Fong, and a lot of its visitors arrive because they could not get into Long Fong. One found 24 tables ahead of them there. Others came while waiting for a number at Long Fong or Shifter, or after failing to get into Loma on its farewell night. One visitor ties the Long Fong queue to its place on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list. Several posts treat Marzaka as Long Fong’s waiting room, and most are happy to end up there.
The rest mostly came on a friend’s tip, or because they work nearby. In April 2026 the bar offered free drinks and snacks in exchange for posts. Five positive posts in our sample date from that month, and we can’t tell which, if any, were part of it.
“The Long Fong queue lounge.”

Complaints
Sweetness and slow nights
2 negative posts, 4 mixed
Both negative posts are about the drinks. In January 2026 a self-described Long Fong fan said Marzaka was not good enough. In July another visitor said the drinks look better than they taste.
Of the mixed posts, one is the slow soft-opening Saturday described under Service. One rated the bar 3.5 out of 5 and found the drinks too sweet by the end. One loved the new mackerel and shrimp cake but not the ¥38 potatoes. The last enjoyed a September guest night but felt nobody was clear on who did what.

We searched Xiaohongshu, China’s main lifestyle and review app, for every post about Marzaka we could find. We set aside posts by the bar and its owner, posts mainly about Bar Long Fong and posts with no text, which left 57 by visitors. We read each one ourselves to make the counts. Many posts only show a short preview, so treat the numbers as a minimum. The summaries and translated quotes are ours, and the links go to the original posts. Last checked 2026-10-10.
