Finding it
On Jinbao Street, not in Langfang
5 posts say where it is. None say it was hard to find
Nobody in our sample got lost. Posts place the bar in the hotel frontage on Jinbao Street. One gives the hotel as the Park Plaza, another says it sits next to the Regent, and a visitor on holiday in October 2026 stayed at the Regent because it put the bar a few steps away. One post lists the hours as 7pm to 2am, which matches ours.
The name causes more trouble than the door. 廊房 sounds exactly like Langfang, a city in Hebei, and the most-liked comment under one popular post came from someone who thought the bar was out there. Two visitors make the same joke in their own posts.
“The Long Fong in Beijing you can drink at, not Langfang.”

Most talked-about drink
The deconstructed Appletini (解构苹果马天尼)
17 posts give a verdict on it. 9 like it, 6 don’t, 2 are in between
This is the drink that made Long Fong famous on Xiaohongshu in October 2025. Visitors describe a drink built from a dozen or more ingredients with no apple in it, served with a small apple to bite once the ice starts to melt. Eight posts in our sample say they came mainly for it. Commenters at the time said it was limited to about 30 a day and gone by around 8pm, and one gave the price as ¥138.
The bar took it off the menu early in 2026. A 2.0 version came back with the tea menu in July 2026, and posts describe it as softer, closer to a light apple tea, with the crisp apple showing more as the ice melts.
Opinion splits more than on anything else here. Fans call it clean apple-skin juice with a little alcohol behind it. Critics say the gin or baijiu drowns the apple, that it tastes more of pear than apple, or simply that the idea is better than the drink. One person queued three times for it in the cold and left after a single glass, saying it left no memory at all.
“Full marks for the idea. Very ordinary in the mouth.”

Signature drinks
Tea, cheese and an oyster
40 posts review signature drinks. 29 mostly like what they had, 4 don’t
The menu changes every season and comes as a small illustrated book, ordered from light to strong, which several posts suggest reading while you wait. The tea menu that arrived in July 2026 drew the most detailed reviews. 十二宝擂茶 × 教父 (Twelve-Treasure Leicha × Godfather) is a nutty Godfather made with tea and nuts pounded by hand at the bar. It is only made on the hour, and one visitor who arrived at seven was told the first round is at eight. For many it was the most memorable drink of the night, though one found the nuts and the spirit never quite came together.
淡金色中的白色 (White in Pale Gold), a Bamboo-style drink built on several white teas and a touch of vinegar, topped two people’s rankings. Another found the vinegar took over, and on one night it had sold out. A visiting bar owner from Shenzhen gave full marks to the smoky Martini with lapsang souchong, and to a drink of mushroom, coffee and Maotai-style baijiu called 酱香拿铁但突然大蘑菇 (Sauce-Aroma Latte, Then Suddenly a Big Mushroom). Another visitor gave that one two stars out of five.
Some drinks stay on through the returning list. 帕玛森尼格罗尼 (Parmesan Negroni) is the one people describe most vividly, with the cheese rising in the throat after you swallow. In the 生蚝大吉利 (Oyster Daiquiri) you drink down to the last mouthful, then tip in an oyster with Tabasco and finish it in one go. 柑橘们与白苦瓜 (Citrus & White Bitter Gourd) is a light, low-alcohol highball that one regular calls the ideal first drink. 羊脂球 (Boule de Suif) is creamy and tastes clearly of beetroot, and people either love it or don’t. The 芒果马天尼 (Mango Martini) is strong, and one visitor warns newcomers off it.
Four posts didn’t like the signatures at all. One found three of them unremarkable, another found the tea menu too strong overall, and a third found the smoky Martini too bitter.
“The tea isn’t a side act. It sits level with the spirit.”

Classics
Worth ordering
4 posts mention the classics, all of them favourably
The classics come up less often, but every mention is kind. One visitor thought a Penicillin beat all four of the signatures they tried that night. Another, who disliked most of the tea menu, still called the classic Martini the best thing they drank. A third was asked whether they wanted their Daiquiri dry or sweet-sour. One regular worked through seven classics over two visits and scored the bar above 80 out of 100.

Bartenders
They look after you
3 posts describe the bartenders, all kindly
One visitor at the bar was being pestered by the man next to them. While he was in the toilet, the bartender quietly said that if they felt offended, the bar would ask him to leave. The same visitor had been steered away from 羊脂球 (Boule de Suif) because they can’t have almonds.
Another visitor, working through the menu in the suggested order, ran out of steam at the Martini and had a drink taken off the bill. A third describes warm bartenders and a round of shots. Not everyone agrees: a commenter under another post found them talkative and pleased with themselves.
“If I felt offended, they would ask him to leave.”

Service
Depends where you are standing
10 posts write about service. 5 are positive, 5 negative
At the bar, service gets praise. A regular from before the queues calls it standardised in the best way, and says they could sit from 8pm to midnight. Staff helped one visitor send back a Mango Martini that was too strong, and handed another a small apple to go with the Appletini.
The complaints are mostly about the edges of the room. One visitor waiting in the standing area says nobody explained the menu or poured water, and their number was skipped without anyone calling them. A guest of three or four visits found the bar staff silent and had to ask for the snacks. Others had their glasses cleared before they had finished, waited a long time for an Appletini nobody had warned them about, or were reminded that outside food isn’t allowed and later given a stern warning by a bartender.

Food
The fish bones
3 posts mention the fried fish bones
The snack people write about is a plate of crisp fried fish bones, salt-and-pepper style. A visiting bar owner says it is monkfish and wants to copy it for his own bar. Another visitor orders more every time. Our own pick is the chicken salad, which none of the posts mention.

The room
Small and loud
3 posts describe the room
Few posts spend long on the room. Two say the atmosphere is good. One visitor, who came as the third bar of a long night, remembers a small space and a lot of noise. Seats are tight too, as the next card explains.

Seats and crowds
Come before seven
28 posts talk about queues or seats. 17 describe a long wait or no seat
There are no bookings. You take a number on a mini-programme at the door, and one visitor notes that nobody can queue on your behalf. There is a standing area by the door where you can order while you wait. The room has only about 20 seats, and one visitor found the bar stools a squeeze. The queues began with the Appletini in October 2025 and grew again after the Asia’s 50 Best ranking in July 2026. A visitor in December 2025 still had to wait at 10.30pm.
The worst stories are long. One person took a number at 8pm and was only called near midnight. They gave up. Another found 16 tables ahead on a Thursday and came back the next day. A third describes the app stuck on three tables ahead and a party of three being seated as four. Several people eat at Marzaka, the group’s bistro five minutes away, while they wait.
Timing is the fix, and posts agree on it. On a weekend, arrive at about 6.40pm to make the first seating at seven. On a weekday, seven or just before eight is usually fine. A visiting bar owner walked in without a wait close to midnight midweek, but treat that as luck. Most people who turn up late still find a queue. Two more things to know: on guest-shift nights the house menu may only start once the guests finish, around 11pm in one case. And drinks run out. Posts mention a sold-out White in Pale Gold, a Piña Colada skipped because the pineapples weren’t good enough, and the second-to-last Appletini of the night at 8.30pm.
“Days after the award, there was already a queue at opening.”

Price
Well over ¥100 a drink
2 posts talk about price
One visitor quotes ¥118 to ¥148 a drink and felt that was too much for a signature whose ingredients they couldn’t taste. Another, who came from out of town for the Appletini, called it expensive. A commenter gave the Appletini’s price as ¥138. Our own note puts drinks at just over ¥100 to about ¥140.

How people hear about it
The Appletini, then the ranking
16 posts mention the Asia’s 50 Best ranking. 8 came for the Appletini
Two waves brought people in. The first was the Appletini in autumn 2025, and eight posts say it was the main reason they came. The second was the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list in July 2026, which put Long Fong at No. 96. Sixteen posts mention the ranking, and 42 of our 62 posts date from that month onwards.
Word of mouth among bartenders plays a part too. One visitor came on the advice of a bartender in Hangzhou, another after a bartender in Seoul brought it up. One regular wrote that they loved the place before it ever made the list, as the usual meeting spot for their friends.

Complaints
A divisive bar
10 negative posts, 10 mixed
One reviewer calls Long Fong the most divisive bar in Beijing, and the posts bear that out. The ten negative ones fall into a few groups. Three are mostly about service, from the standing area to a stern warning at the bar. Two are about the Appletini, one from a visitor who travelled to Beijing for it and couldn’t taste the apple. Four found the signatures unremarkable, too strong or too odd, one of them saying the bar doesn’t live up to its name. One person waited nearly four hours and went home.
The mixed posts tend to like some drinks and not others, or to like the drinks and not the queue. Price comes up in two posts.

We searched Xiaohongshu, China’s main lifestyle and review app, for every post about Bar Long Fong we could find. We set aside posts about the sister bars, posts by the owners, the bar or visiting guest bars, and posts with no text, which left 62 by visitors. We read each one ourselves to make the counts. Some posts only show a short preview, so treat the numbers as a minimum. The summaries and translated quotes are ours, and the links go to the original posts. We also read reviews on Chinese review apps to check the timing and practical tips, but none of them are counted here. Last checked 2026-10-10.
